Landscape

The first part of the class is dedicated to the plein air. And I tried alla prima. The result is somewhat this.

Bhavna this landscape painting is beautiful to look at! Well I literally know nothing about the abc's of painting. But was just curious to know the meaning of al-la-prima, and came to know that the painting is completed in one session. Is there more to it?

Hey Sunitha,

Thanks for visiting. You are right about alla prima. Nowadays, however, the term can also be applied to paintings that are worked wet-on-wet; that is, without having to wait for one layer to dry before working on it. So, its best to finish it in one sitting.

Take care,
Bhavna
